I'd also like to indicate my interest in an API to parse the CE's on a rule
(or query) LHS.

In my case, the motivation is for a design tool that will  identify which
facts (and slots) are in a given rule LHS. Likewise, which rules USE a given
fact/slot in their LHS. (strictly speaking I mean deftemplates  here, not
instances of facts)

A complimentary API would be one that identifies which facts (templates) are
asserted, modified or retracted on a rule  RHS. Any consideration for this?
