Hi Folks,

A few quick announcements. First, the first release candidate for Jess
6.1 will come out on Monday, barring any unforeseen problems. If
you've got any 6.1 prerelease bug reports, please let me know now!

Secondly, I tried using html2ps from
http://www.tdb.uu.se/~jan/html2ps.html to convert the manual to a PDF
format. It works quite well, actually, and looks much better than the
old system using LaTeX. There are a few kinks to iron out but I think
this will probably be the new format for the Jess manual. See
http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov/docs/manual.pdf for a preview.

Hi Ernest.

I viewed and printed the PDF from Linux and Windows 2000, both under Acrobat Reader, and the documentation looks great. The documentation hyperlinks work equally well in both environments. And the printouts are attractive.

This looks like a keeper.

Regards,

Win
