A single rule engine (jess.Rete object) can be pattern-matching on one
thread, and firing rules on another, but that's it. There can't be
multiple assertions, or multiple firings, being processed at once.

However, you can create multiple rule engines, and run each one on a
separate thread. Many parallelizable problems can be split up this
way.
