I will put together an example tonight using pseudocode (as opposed to JESS syntax). Hopefully, I will not get any demerits for this -it is just easier to explain this way.
There is another piece to this that I will include that takes this approach even further. I have used it on the last 3 projects. In one case, I reduced 7000 rules to 50 using this technique. BUT, again, it is more abstract than what most people are used to. Some months ago I posted something about creating an "inference model" with Rational Rose and this is where it all comes together (to help stay out of the rule weeds). Right now, I have to start the BBQ machine (I be the chief cook & bottlewasher when I am not out on a contract). I also have to go buy some "Norsk Giggle Juice" to make sure the BBQ recipe is right <TeeHee>. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, August 26, 2003 1:19 PM Subject: Re: JESS: Re: Subrules > I think Rich Halsey wrote: > > > This already exists in JESS whether you match on classes or > > interfaces, it's just that many people do not even consider using it > > because it is somewhat abstract (it is definitely NOT "see spot > > run"). > > Hmmmm.
