So is there a job or not ?!? If so, how do we proceed to move forward. If there is no detail available, what is the point of that thread?

We may have to wait until the dust settles (DoJ ??) before any details come out. But, if anyone is looking at taking a job in that region they may want to ask a LOT of questions first, i.e., look before you leap and all that glitters is not gold. Or, if you are REALLY into PAIN, then just jump right in !!!

For myself, I would really prefer to work on a rules job that is managed by REAL software engineering professionals (not hackers) and where they want to adhere to a sane approach (not READY, FIRE, AIM !).

Anyhoo, that is my two cents.

No kidding?  What happened?  (And why would you think that anyone would want to pick up the gauntlet?)   What company was it?

There is a rules project in O'Fallon, Illinois looking for people. The last person that I knew working on the project just left after she was reduced to tears (on the last day - at the last minute) by management that must be a cross between Dilbert and the Marquis de Sade. God, there must be some awfully vicious and sadistic people there.
