I assert a fact as a consequence of the firing of a rule, within Jess. In order that this fact be used in another rule, it should not be confused with any other similarly created, earlier fact.
The problem I face seems to be best solved by identifying the order in which facts have been asserted. I have spent a couple of hours with the manual and Jess in Action, but must be suffering from man-blindness or wrong-tree barking.
