Hasan, Unfortunately I don't know of any published tutorials for using Jess for data mining. I do, however, have personal experience using Jess rules in conjunction with machine learning algorithms implemented in the R project (http://www.r-project.org/). My advice is to start with a statistics or machine learning library that is compatible with Java, such as R or Weka, and that has the algorithms you need. There is a comparison of R and Weka here: http://wiki.pentaho.com/download/attachments/3801462/ComparingWekaAndR.p df?version=1
With a little Java programming, you could build the function calls to allow Jess rules to call to the stats packages. The Jess Engine would run the classification rules and the rules to execute the statistical algorithms when needed. Good luck! I am looking at implementing an application using classification rules and Bayesian estimation. Would anyone know a starting point?
