Dear Friend, It is a great thing to believe the Lord and know that God's Word is true at all times. We are to be confident in the Lord our God and trust that He will bring good from our lives no matter how bleak our negative situations may sometimes seem. The Bible declares in Psalm 46:1-3, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof... He is the Lord our Creator and has promised that all things will work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Trust the Lord always and know that He loves you with an everlasting love and nothing can ever separate you from His ever reaching arms. (Romans 8:28) (Jeremiah 31:3) I hope you are encouraged and blessed by today's message to rest in God's promise and know that He will be with you all the days of your life. I BELIEVE GOD Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. (Acts 27:25) I went to America some years ago with the captain of a steamer, who was a very devoted Christian. When off the coast of Newfoundland he said to me, The last time I crossed here, five weeks ago, something happened which revolutionized the whole of my Christian life. We had George Mueller of Bristol on board. I had been on the bridge twenty-four hours and never left it. George Mueller came to me, and said, Captain, I have come to tell you that I must be in Quebec Saturday afternoon. It is impossible, I said. Very well, if your ship cannot take me, God will find some other way. I have never broken an engagement for fifty-seven years. Let us go down into the chart-room and pray. I looked at that man of God, and thought to myself, what lunatic asylum can that man have come from? I never heard of such a thing as this. Mr. Mueller, I said, Do you know how dense this fog is? No, he replied, My eye is not on the density of the fog, but on the living God, who controls every circumstance of my life. He knelt down and prayed one of the simplest prayers, and when he had finished, I was going to pray; but he put his hand on my shoulder, and told me not to pray. First, you do not believe He will answer; and second I BELIEVE HE HAS, and there is no need for you to pray about it. I looked at him, and he said, Captain, I have known my Lord for fifty-seven years, and there has never been a single day that I have failed to get audience with the King. Get up, Captain and open the door, and you will find the fog gone. I got up, and the fog was indeed gone. On Saturday afternoon, George Mueller was in Quebec for his engagement. If our love were but more simple, We should take Him at His word; And our lives would be all sunshine, In the sweetness of our Lord. Author Unknown We should always be confident in the ability of the Lord. To bring victory to His people, the Lord parted the Red Sea for Moses, made the Sun to stand still for Joshua, delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fiery furnace, was with Daniel in the Lions Den, brought victory to David who slew Goliath and the list continues. We should never come to God telling Him how big our problems are, but rather we are to go to our problems and tell them how big our God is. Do not think it foolish to claim and pray for victory when defeat seems imminent. The Lord who created us is the God of the impossible and waits to show Himself strong on behalf of those who trust Him. Rest in God's strength and know that in His sight All Is Well. (Exodus 14:21) (Joshua 10:12-14) (Daniel 3:13-25; 6:16-23) (2 Chronicles 16:9) Read and meditate on these scriptures: Jeremiah 32:17-18 Ah Lord GOD! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee: Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is His name. 2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him... Romans 8:31-32 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Matthew 21:21-22 Jesus says, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
