Dear Friend, We as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are to keep in mind that this life on Earth is temporary and the troubles that come with it will one day disappear. Many times we place so much emphasis on our physical life which will last only for a short time and we neglect our spiritual life which will last for all Eternity. Remember what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:18 "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are Eternal." We are to focus on our spiritual richness and make God our top priority because we will give an account of how we lived for Him on the Earth. (Matthew 6:30-34) (Matthew 6:19-21) I hope you are encouraged by today's message to focus more on your eternal destination and realize that this life is not the end of the picture. I'LL FLY AWAY Our tour group was in Billings, Montana, the fifth day of a 31 day tour to Alaska, when the call came about Hazel's death. I was definitely not prepared. How could I go on with the trip? How could I go back home to South Georgia? Hazel was my best friend--my fellow writer/poet who shared an area of my life no one else understood. She was the one who listened to my troubles and prayed for me when I needed help. Lastly, she was my sister-in-law. How could I go on without her in my life? Our bus pulled out of Billings headed for Calgary, Alberta. As we traveled across big sky country my heart felt as empty as the open spaces around us. I could not hold back the tears that slipped out and rolled down my face. The communications system on the bus was on and a video of gospel music was playing. My attention was drawn to the screen where a lady, who looked a lot like Hazel, was singing, "I'll Fly Away". She was really identifying with her music as the praises poured forth from her mouth. She had both arms raised above her head and eyes lifted toward the sky as if expecting to see something up above. The images in my head begin to blur and the figure became Hazel. Many times she and I had discussed death--mostly her death since she was many years older than I. "Someday," she said "I'll Fly Away to meet my Jesus and see all my loved ones who have gone on before me. What a happy day that will be for me. There are so many things I want to ask Jesus when I see Him. What joy it will be when I can see my mother again." As I watched the figure on the screen, which had become Hazel, I seemed to see her rise into the sky. She turned and waved good-bye to me. There was a radiance about her face. I knew that she was happy. I knew that her long awaited reunion was going to take place today. Momentarily, the music changed and the lady was gone. I experienced a warm sense of peace enveloping my body and I was happy. This was the day Hazel had dreamed of for so long. Today she had achieved her dreams. She and I had often talked about my going to Alaska, which was one of my dreams. She would be so happy to know I was on my way. We continued on to Alaska and were gone 27 more days before we returned home. The deep sense of peace remained with me. I did not grieve for Hazel again. Even as I returned home to the familiar surroundings that she and I had experienced, I still felt good about her. The image I had seen on the bus of her rising and flying away became more real to me as the days went by. I knew she was where she wanted to be and she was happy. I still miss her--when I have something to share or see something I think she would be interested in, the pain is there in my heart, but that is my pain and my loss--she has achieved her dream. By Ivie Bozeman The beauties that await God's precious children will greatly outweigh and overshadow any of the problems that came their way on the earth. With our finite minds, we are not capable to comprehend the complexity and detailed beauty that God has prepared for those who love Him. (Psalm 139:1-10) Be encouraged to trust the Lord with every area of your life and commit to Him your spirit forsaking the lusts of this world and wait in hope for that glorious day when He calls you Home. (2 Corinthians 7:1) (John 14:1-3) Read and meditate on these scriptures: 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 "...Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God." 1 Peter 2:9-10 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an Holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible. If we found ourselves in need and only someone else could provide the help, we would welcome that assistance and pray that God would bless them for helping us. In the same manner that we would welcome help, we ought to lend a helping hand towards those who are distressed or discouraged where they are. (Romans 15:1-4) We are to remember that we are God's stewards on the earth and the example that we leave as believers in Jesus Christ, reflects directly on the God whom we say we love. The Bible declares in 1 John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." Be encouraged to lead a life that is not only pleasing to your fellow man, but to God Almighty who has called you out of darkness and into His marvellous light. (Luke 12:35-44) (Titus 1:7-9) I hope you are inspired by today's message to lead your life by example and shine the light that is within you where all will be encouraged and blessed because of your living testimony. JUST UP THE ROAD Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each looks like every other horse. But if one stops the car, or is walking by, one will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing. Listening, one will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, one will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her. As one stands and watches these two friends, one sees how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where he is trusting that she will not lead him astray. Like the owner of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need. Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by God and those whom He places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see God. Author Unknown Read and meditate on these scriptures: Galatians 6:2-4 "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another." 1 Peter 1:22 "Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently." 1 Peter 4:8-10 "And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." Hebrews 12:1-3 "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the Joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible. There are many instances when we lose focus and believe the lie that our life has no meaning. This is something the enemy wants you to believe because he knows if you believe the opposite of that, you would be unstoppable in reaching the goals and aspirations that are in your heart. The Lord declares in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." The Lord has an expected end for each of our lives, but we must make up our minds and stand in who God has created us to be. (Deuteronomy 14:2) If you are not sure of the steps that need to be taken for you to advance to the next level of victory, then I hope this message both challenges you and shows you the way to unleash your potential. UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL Inside every seed is a tree. What you see is not all there is. That is potential. God created everything with potential, including you. Potential is dormant ability, reserved power, untapped strength, unused success, hidden talents, capped capability. Potential is all you can be but have not yet become; all you can do but have not yet done. The keys to releasing your potential: You must know (be related to) your source. To understand the potency of your potential it is essential that you know God. You must understand how God designed you to function. God designed you to function like He does by faith and love. Your potential cannot be released without a combination of faith and love. You must know your purpose. Whatever purpose God created you for, He also gave you the potential to fulfill it. Your potential is equal to the assignment. You must understand your resources. God provides abundant material and physical resources to sustain and maintain your life. Resources were created to live on and with, but never for. We are never to worship the resources, nor be controlled by them. You must have the right environment. God designed man to function in the garden, in relationship with Him, free from sin, and in daily communion with His spirit. The Fall of Man contaminated this environment. The key to realizing your potential is the restoration of God's original environment. Jesus came to restore us to the Father, and sent the Holy Spirit to restore our internal environment. You must work out your potential. Work is a major key to releasing your potential. Potential must be exercised and demands made on it, otherwise it will remain "potential". Good ideas do not bring success. Good hard work does. To release your true potential, you must be willing to work. You must cultivate your potential. Potential is like a seed. It is buried ability, and hidden power that needs to be cultivated. You must feed your potential the fertilizer of positive company, give it the environment of encouragement, pour out the water of the Word of God, and bathe it in the sunshine of personal prayer. You must guard your potential. It is sad when what could have been becomes what should have been. God called your potential your treasure, something to be valued and guarded from sin, discouragement, procrastination, distractions, and compromises. You must share your potential. True potential in life is not what is accomplished, but who benefits from it. Your deposit was given to enrich and inspire the lives of others. Author Unknown Be encouraged and know that within you there is ability and strength to overcome and triumph over every obstacle that comes before you. Do not stand in your trials and doubt the strength that God has given you, but rather gird yourself up with confidence and face that mountain commanding it to be moved in the name of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:13-23) (Mark 11:22-26) Always remember that with man it may be impossible, but with God all things are possible. Reach the potential that is within you and be all who God has made you to be. (Mark 10:27) (Acts 1:8) Read and meditate on these scriptures: 1 Peter 2:9-10 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." Isaiah 43:25-26 "I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put Me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified." Acts 1:8 Jesus declares "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
