Simple description from Denny Teguh Sutandio:
Nowadays, we live in a postmodern era with postmodernism concept. In this
postmodern era, there are many popular culture which include: music, movies,
fashions, fads, literature, lingo, and icons. What’s behind popular culture? As
Christians, how should we deal with the popular culture? In his book Redeeming
Pop Culture, Rev. T. M. Moore, M.Div., M.C.E. explains many things about
popular culture. In the first chapter, he explains the definition of popular
culture. After that, he provides us a new concept of kingdom approach to deal
with popular culture. Then, he explains the source of popular culture based on
theological perspective. In the further chapters, he applies a kingdom approach
to deal with popular culture: dialoguing, criticizing, and transforming. In the
last chapter, he explains how to integrate a kingdom approach into popular
culture wisely without compromising.

Endorsement:
“A most challenging and encouraging treatment of this sensitive subject. Moore
moves seamlessly from Bob Dylan to Andrew Wyeth to baseball to Steve Irwin to
his beloved Gerard Manley Hopkins. Even more impressive is his
biblical-theological understanding of culture and its relation o God’s kingdom.
Resolutely practical, this volume provides a basis for formulating better
judgments and growing in grace.”
