Although not needed (I arrive late), I give my explicit +1. You are doing a great job auditing/commenting/fixing code. I agree with Glenn's later post that we need more indepth solving of issues than quick fixes, but we typically are aiming for both things, transient fixes while we solve the deep issue. As a general comment, deeply commenting "THE WAY" in selected places of the code can make a lot of a difference, as people tends to study and copy code fragments when doing things. Also, avoiding excess public methods in classes goes in the right direction.
