Glenn, I appreciate that you're busy and probably want answers rather
than pointers, but I find the following a much gentler introduction to
CVS than the Cederqvist:

The branching and tagging section is pretty readable. I tend to point
newcomers to CVS there to begin with. Worth a look if you've got a spare
half-hour.
