Above is a proposed fix for bug 16511 (included in a ZIP archive). Please test 
it, and inform me if it worked for you. If it does, I will ask someone to 
commit the changes to the CVS.

The archive includes four files:

1) LDAPUserManagement.java 
2) LDAPAuthentication.java 
3) ldap-notes.txt
4) jetspeed.ldif

The latter two files are not necessary for fixing this bug, but while I made 
the patch I noticed that the "jetspeed.ldif" file did not contain role "user" 
for the "admin" user, which is necessary for the unit tests to pass. I also 
added a mention of fixing this bug to the "ldap-notes.txt" file.
