Can potentially throw an exception on Servlet unload. Protected. More changes in initialization, untested in HEAD, needed here.
The remaining changes here I'm not sure if they will stand against turbine-2.2 (different version in this tag), so I will not move them to HEAD unless somebody else tests them against HEAD.
They (together with changes in init() in other services, uncommited yet) solve, for 1.3a3, the issue of broken initialization of services, encountered sometims for this version.
I don't know if it is an issue in current HEAD.
I feel that using this branch for changes that I have sitting in my drive will, at least, give the oportunity for other people to see them, and maybe test them against HEAD, giving visibility to the changes without disrupting main development.
What do you think?
