You can ignore the CNF: message as it is misleading. It is generated by the PortletFactory when trying to locate the correct classloader to load the portlets from. It logs a CNF messages if it cannot find a portlet class in a classloader, then moves on to the next classloader to check. I just fixed this, see: http://nagoya.apache.org/jira/browse/JS2-140.

Hello,

I finally with jdk1.5.0 am able to get tomcat to come
up with jetspeed application but it has few exceptions
including one below. I see that src but how come
class was not compiled.

I need some pointer to understand what tags in
maven.xml or project.xml are responsible for building
it? I think we have recursive project.xml file as few
of sub dir have them.

CNF: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.apache.jetspeed.portlets.layout.Multi
ColumnPortlet:org.apache.jetspeed.portlets.layout.MultiColumnPortlet

Thanks.

Miten.
