I am new to Jetspeed and portal development. I am trying to figure where I
should start. I see there is Jetspeed-1 , Jetspeed-2, Pluto, and WSRP4J. I
would like to develop a portal with porlets that are JSR168 compatible, that
integrate web services, RSS, remote database access, and Web page access.
To that end I have 2 questions:
1. Are there any recommendations as to which product I should use to do my portal development?
J1 is more stable, J2 is still relateively early in development but moving along quickly
J1 has support for JSR 168 portlets today
We hope to release 1.6 of J1 in October
2. What are the differences between the different portal efforts?
Both J1 and J2 do not have WSRP support yet. Pluto is not a portal but just a portlet container
