+1 on getting it into HEAD ASAP.  I'm very excited to see the new code!

Huge +1 on this!  I feel we should continue with this approach even after
cut the release version.

I am going to take another shot at the binary installer and hopefully have a
M2+Tomcat 5.5 version available near release time.
