When a portlet fails the Desktop shows the banner but nothing else.
This may mean that the Desktop does not handle failed portlets.
The jetspeed log indicates the warning,
org.apache.jetspeed.components.portletentity.PersistenceBrokerPortletEntityAccess
- Failed to retrieve Portlet Definition for PORTLET::ID
