I recently downloaded and installed Apache 1.3.20 and have it working no
problem. Now, I have downloaded Tomcat 3.2.3
(jakarta-tomcat-3.2.3-src.tar.gz) and I'm trying to unpack it so I can begin
the installation and configuration.
Using this command...tar -xvf
/usr/local/downloads/jakarta-tomcat-3.2.3-src.tar.gz, I received the
following error...
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: 453 garbage bytes ignored at end of archive
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
I have been following the documentation written but, no matter what, I
receive the above error. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone help? I
downloaded directly from the Apache website.
