We still have to do the merge of the Portlet API implementation with the
head.
We did implement the portlet API based on a code snapshot earlier this
year, meanwhile several changes have been made, for example the layout
system improvements that Raphael has done (removing ECS) etc.
After we'll have done the merge (currently planned for the JetSpeed 1.3 a 3
release), WPS portlets should run on JetSpeed and vice versa if they only
use the Portlet API and standard J2EE functions.
Best regards,
Thomas

Subject: Possible build with new Portlet API?
Is it possible to build Jetspeed with the new portlet API branch? I have
used jcvs to checkout the complete Jetspeed, and I have built it - it does
not have the target in the docs, but it seems to build without a target. I
don't find any documentation or instructions on how to checkout and/or
build
a branch.
I am making portlets for IBM Portal Server 1.2, and a test-run on Jetspeed
would ensure that the portlets are truly portable and not vendor-specific.
