Hi, >From the SOAP exception, I guess you are using the Stock Quote Portlet - this is connecting to a SOAP service over the net - perhaps there are delays on that end.
Try testing it with a basic portlet - it will give you an idea of the core jetspeed performance - presumably you will be writing your own portlet behind it - which is yours to tune...
