What version of Java are you using? JDK 1.4 resolved most of the
NoClassDefFoundError.

Subject: NoClassDefFoundError on newRSSPortlet when I login to Jetspeed

Hello Jetspeed users:

I just downloaded Jetspeed a couple of days ago and am quite wet behind the
ears. When I log in as Admin I get the following error:

org.apache.turbine.util.TurbineException: Error rendering Velocity template:
/controls/html/jetspeed.vm: Invocation of method 'getContent' in class
org.apache.jetspeed.portal.portlets.NewRSSPortlet threw exception class
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

This seems to be the only portlet which gives this error. Otherwise, the
other portlets on the default welcome screen runs. I even added a webpage
portlet and it runs properly. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

On another note I would also be very interested to know if 3rd
parties/companies/orgs have developed an existing pool of general-portlets
which can be snapped into jetspeed (besides the ones which come with it)
such as ones which implement a Calendar, messaging, invites, shopping carts,
etc.

Thanks once again.

Hammad.
