Jamie,

You have 2 options.

1) Use the IFrame portlet type instead of WebPagePortlet.  See portlet 
named "JetspeedFramed", it is define in demo-potlets.xreg

2) Set the parameter "open_in_popup" to "yes" in the portlets's registry 
entry. This feature was added to 1.3a3-dev, i.e. it is in the current 
cvs. See
