Make sure you enter the port number too like...
database.default.driver=org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver
database.default.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/turbine

and try this adaptor...

database.adaptor=DBMM
database.adaptor.DBMM=org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver
