Hi, In my Jetspeed portal (v 1.3a2) I'm trying to figure out a way to popup a new window (using javascript window.open) that will have a layout different from the default portal layout. I'm pretty familiar with the hierarchy of layout, navigations, controllers, controls, porlets etc. So would I go about doing this by creating a new screen template or a new layout template? It seems that I would just create a new layout and link to it, though I'm not sure how to form the link such that Jetspeed will know to use my popup.vm instead of the default.vm. Is my question too ambiguous?
What I'm basically trying to do is popup and edit portlet, but I want to do it within the context of Jetspeed rather than writing a Turbine action or a whole separate servlet. Please advise me. One other thing--there seem to be a lot of new features in version 1.3a3. What's the timeframe for its release, and is it a waste of time to develop on version 1.3a2?
