Hi I have simple queries on content fetching: 1) What is the main difference between Rich Site Summery (RSS) and Open Site Syndication method?
2) Suppose, I want to fetch some site content, so can we fetch any content from any site from HTML pages? Or should we need XML pages of that site or there are some special pages of that site eg http://xml.com/xml/xmlnews.rdf with rdf extension which provide developers to fetch the content. 3) What is the step by step procedure to develop the Content Fetching? For example, if, I want to develop the stock news channel say from CNBC. I know this site gets refresh its content after some time, a) First do I need its special ****.rdf URL of this site which provide the stocks update? b) Second what happens if I want to display stocks only at my main page /jetspeed/index.jsp not under RSS menu. Can you please help me to provide the step by step procedure to make the news channel at the main page. I shall be highly obliged for your kind response.
