Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply. I tried it out and it worked. I wasnt stoping the servlet 
engine while i was changing the files previously, though i restarted it after 
changing. I could remove almost all the portlets, with the method u suggested, but 
wasnt able to remove feed_local.xreg file. Even though i removed the content/file it 
is recreated. Is there any properties file that controles this.
