Portlet-spawning portlet

Hi all -

This is basically a repost of something I asked about a while ago, but it got buried. I am not really looking for solutions for this issue, just opinions on whether it is good portal practice, and maybe if anyone else has experimented with this.

I can write a portlet that creates other portlets in the registry. I can make a template for this portlet so that the way that people would use this can be controlled. The question is does this seem to violate the spirit of what is going on in the portal?

BTW, I sent in another post about some quick fixes to Jetspeed-Velocity out-of-the-box that can enhance interactivity both between people and portlets and between portlets. Anyone care to hear/look at it?
