Yes, it is possible to use a larger database to store the portal information as well, it's even recommended for large deployments as the XML files do not scale well for many users. I'm not aware of any deployments yet on Informix so you may have samll SQL syntax issues when creating the SQL Schema. > 2) Can we use Jetspeed as a content management tool? And how to use it? > There's no built-in search engine in Jetspeed, just a search portlet to query Internet search engines. It should not be a major issue to integrate a lucene search engine portlet but then, this is only relevant if you have a CMS. > 5) How about multi-language portal? > Internationalization is supported. Users get a portal environment language based on their browser settings. Portlet content may or may not be available in multi language depending on the protlet. > 6) Is there an administration console for Jetspeed? > A basic one, you can access it by logging in as admin in the default build. However, there are some configurations you need to do manually in the properties file. > 7) For the people who use Jetspeed in their companies, are > you satisfied > with it? What are the competences need to set it up? And, > finally, is it > resource consuming? > I will not answer this one as I'm probably not representative of the average Jetspeed user ;) In any case, I would not recommend deploying Jetspeed within a company if you don't have internal (or contracted for) Java and EAI integration skills. A portal is only as useful as its integration with other IT tools within the company and these integration skills are a definite must for any successful deployment, even more so for Jetspeed than for other portal engines because internal or external integrators would be your main support. > I am aware my questions are not very technical, but as I said > before, I am a > beginner with Jetspeed... > > Thanx a lot in advance for your answers. > > Ced > > __________________________________ > Cdric BARDE > Disneyland Paris - Information Services Gee...
