I'm using 1.4b3 of Jetspeed and I'm trying to understand how to cache objects for a Portlet without caching the entire portlet object. I have a resource expensive web service call to make, and I want to keep the values cached for a time, or until a doUpdate. Specifying a cache in the xreg appears to make it impossible to 'expire' the content, and as there may be numerous portlets open using different query parameters, I cannot store the object in a fixed string in User.Temp.
