This "piece of software" also calls itself "open source" and is based on
voluntary contributions. It would be nice of you, Al, to enter this
enhancement request in Bugzilla and perhaps someone will pick this up in
their spare time.

I have a news post/subscribe/view portlet similar to what is described above, and I have been planning on contributing it back to Jetspeed.

- Idea of news channels users subscribe to.
- Ability for users to post and channel owners to review the post and publish/edit/deny them.
- administrative screens to set up and administer the channels/channel owners.

I still have the following to do in order to contribute it:

1) convert from VelocityPortlet to MVCPortlet/VelocityProcessor (trivial).
2) clean up the action class.
3) convert sql db/table generation to torque for automatic generation.
4) strip out Cisco specific fields and genericize db schema.

I expect this to take about a day+, but won't have the time until after mid month.

Is this something other people would be interested in? ie, should I spend the time?
