For what it's worth, one of the guys I work(ed) with looked for a solution to do just
that and didn't come up with one. That doesn't mean it's impossible, but the solution
is perhaps non-obvious.

Hi all!

Suppose you have a Jetspeed site with (at least) two levels of nested
panes. One such example is the default Jetspeed page that can be found eg.
at

http://www.bluesunrise.com/jetspeed/portal/

This page has three tabs on the first level ("Home Page", "RSS" and
"Dynamic"), and then under the RSS tab several sub-tabs.

Here's my question. Take the third sub-tab under RSS -- it is called
"Mozilla latest headlines". The url to reach this tab is

http://www.bluesunrise.com/jetspeed/portal/media-
type/html/language/en/user/anon/page/default.psml/js_pane/111

but it only works from the RSS tab (and its subtabs). The question is, is
it possible to produce a URL that would point to "Mozilla latest headlines"
and would work from anywhere?

I need this for two reasons (and i'm sure several more could be found):

1. To send urls via e-mail (now I have to send the url of the primary tab
and a notice to click the secondary tab ..)
2. To show a user that has just registered some special page (not the home
page) notifiying them of how things are.

This seemed a simple and obvious problem to me, but I couldn't find an
answer anywhere on the Jetspeed site (including the mailing lists).. I hope
someone can direct me to a resource answering this, or even give me a
direct answer. Thanks!

Best regards,

Matija Mazi
