Thanks, that worked! Actually you can also modify the "owner-only" security to allow access to the admin role for example. I don't think all this is really intuitive, and hope something better comes out of JS2;)
As for the groups, I still have no clue what their usefulness is in jetspeed!? I'll keep on trying things out ;) thanks anyway cheers greg -----Original Message----- From: Josh Holding [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: jeudi 11 septembre 2003 21:15 To: 'Jetspeed Users List' Subject: RE: Allow update of psml by admin and group administration Howdy, So far, I have not figured out the group administration like you have talked about. I was able to get the admin to edit the user's psml files via the security settings on either the psml or the registry (wherever the constraint was). I had to modify <security-ref parent="owner-only"/> and created a security reference for owners and admins to use. I'm looking into the same issues, especially your 2nd one: I need to create groups with some default portlets and layouts, and then I'd like the users to use the psml i define for their group(s). >From what I see, each user has a psml, so what if his/her group's psml changes? Is it automagically updated ? Actually I'm a bit lost regarding how groups/users/psml interact together, and did not any relevant info on the net yet. Thanks for any light greg -----Original Message----- From: Josh Holding [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: vendredi 29 aot 2003 16:12 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: Allow update of psml by admin and group administration I have two issues that I haven't been very productive in figuring out, and wondering if someone could help point me in the right direction. I am using 1.4-b4. First, I've been trying to figure out how to allow an admin to edit any psml file within the PsmlBrowser portlet. It displays the generic: "You do not have access to these portlets" when I click on the psml to edit. Where is this going? I can tell it is using the controls.Customize action, but haven't been able to find where that is pointing to in order to customize this portlet customizer. Also, I understand the role-based psml setup, and have that configured by making this setting blank: 'services.Profiler.newuser.template'. Is there a way to combine role-based psml with a group-based psml? Is there even a group-based psml configuration? I have a requirement where a user's group & role combination will use a unique psml configuration.
