I think I have figured out from the posts what the issue is.  It is the "modifiable" 
property in WEB-INF/conf/portletdefinitionmapping.xml.  This should be "readonly" 
instead.  I must have overlooked committing the portletdefinitionmapping.xml last 
night.  I will do that as soon as I get home.
