You can turn off caching on IE.
But then again, that brings another can of worms into the mix.

Goto:

Tools/Internet Options/

Click settings under "Temporary Internet Files"

Click "Never" or "Every time you start Internet Explorer" radio button, click ok, then
ok again.

That should do it.

Only other option is to have that back button repost a form with the previous values
back to the first page and have that page grab the posted form values. <- that's a
better solution but not sure how much more coding you want to do :)

Subject: form fields resetted when using BACK button in IE

Hi everyone,

I've made a portlet to query a database.
First, it displays a form with text input fields to specify
criteria for the query.

When submit button is pressed, a result page is displayed.

The problem is that when I go back using the back
button of Internet Explorer or using a link I made
on the result page (HREF="javascript:history.back(1)"),
the fields I filled are resetted and I have to fill them again.

Going back under Mozilla browser keeps the fields unchanged which is the behaviour I
want.

Anyone has an idea of how to do it or maybe there is a setting for IE ?

Thanks in advance.

Fred
