You can use the Jakarta POT API http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/index.html to create an
xml or html file from the Excel xls file. I imagine you can use the JSP portlet to
implement this, and I do not believe JS native portlets directly support xls.

Could anyone provide me with an example on how I can make Excel xls files
available from JS native portlets in a fast and easy way?
What kind of setup for media type (and where!) and what type of portlet?
Any hint appreciated!

Thank you in advance
Stefano
