j2_entity parameter and JSR 168 portlets

Hi,

When adding JSR 168 portlets to a psml site, I notice that there is a parameter called j2_entity being added to the entry in the .psml file. This value seems to increment by 2 each time I add a new portlet. Since Iam writing an application to generate .psml files, is there a way to find out what value I should give to the j2_entity parameter?
