Gary, I would recommend building from source for now. Last time I tried to use the plugin on M4, even when I got it to build, it didn't work. Building from source is relatively painless, just refer to section 5 in the getting started doc. Obtaining the source is pretty easy using eclipse with the subversion plugin (subclipse).
