Hi, I'm trying to get started with jetspeed 2.0 and went through all the Guides here http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-2/guides/index.html.
I'm still not clear where I should start. I'm obviously new to the portal development world. I'm looking to build a portal from scratch and I haven't seen a 'how to get started' guide for dummies like me. I looked through the mailing list archives back to January of this year and didn't find anything to get me started. Google hasn't done me any good either. Does a quick start guide exist somewhere? This guide here http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-2/getting-started.html seems to be dated b/c I've downloaded and installed the Derby installer which seems to bundle everything so I don't even need my own install of Tomcat. My ApacheJetspeed2.0 directory seems to have everything. I've started up the tomcat install in this directory and can hit http://localhost:8080/jetspeed. I've downloaded and installed Maven and a lot of the documentation refers to the 'maven' command but it seems that the new command is 'mvn'. Would it be useful for me to start looking into Velocity before I get started with Jetspeed 2.0? Thank you for any help. - Lost -
