Hello,
I am currently working with a group working with Jetspeed-2 and I
have apparently hit a bit of a snag. We have a custom decoration set
up and I have designed a menubar in Flash that will allow users to
navigate through everything being held in jetspeed. The big problem
here is that when I click on the portlet name (say for example
"Weather") the Weather portlet will load, but because the entire page
is reloading my flash menubar is also having to reload and it
displays as the first menu item "Business" even though I am at the
"Weather" portlet.
I figure that the easiest way to combat this is to put my Flash menu
in a frame at the bottom of my page, and have it so when a link is
clicked, it loads up in the "main" frame, leaving my menu frame the
way it is, thus I will have no reloading issues. The problem is that
I cannot find anything about doing such a thing online and am
therefore scared that it is not even possible.
If anyone could give me some insight/suggestions on what I am trying
to do here, it would be greatly appreciated and a great help.
Yes, I've heard about solutions with frames as you are suggesting, but
we don't have any existing layouts that demonstrate this approach.
Perhaps an IFrame might work for you, or even try using the portlet
pipeline.
