Hello All,
I am new to Jet Speed. I have installed jet speed and it is running. I
am struggling to convert a struts application into a portlet. The
following is the error message I get when I run the application.
Two important things are to specify the portal struts html taglib
(done in the web.xml or in the first few lines of your jsp pages) and
to use the portlet request processor in the bridge (done in
struts-config.xml). And set ViewPage (porlet init parameter) to the
inital jsp or action where users get started with the application.
Failed to retrieve Portlet Definition for
jetspeed::VelocityTwoColumnsFailed to retrieve Portlet Definition for
jetspeed::VelocityTwoColumnsjava.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot
pass a null PortletDefinition to a PortletEntity.
This happens when your application has not been deployed properly or
there is an unhandled exception.
I feel that documentation for jetspeed is very little and would be very
thankful if some body can give me a detailed document or tutorials. I
also want information on how to configure SSO in Jetspeed. Please help
me out as it is very urgent and I have to deliver the work to the client
very soon.
Jetspeed is extremly customizable. The documentation focuses on the
components and how they work. After one gets a good understanding of
the individual components using Jetspeed becomes quite easy. You seem
to need a better understanding of the struts bridge and the
authentication model. See these links,
http://portals.apache.org/bridges/multiproject/portals-bridges-struts/index.html
http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-2/guides/guide-security.html
A good understanding of app servers is also important. For sso
basically use the same realm for both applications so that they can
share a common login. Also look at the sample SSO portlets.
An last of all see the portal spec doc and this free pdf book,

Thanks in advance,
