Servlet never even crossed my mind..I've been stuck in portlet mode for so long now. I'm thinking that I will have to make the entry point of our site a servlet that checks for the cookie, and authenticates the user if it is found. Then redirects to our main page. Is this how you would handle this situation ?

Hi Patrick, why do you not write a servlet that reads the user info and redirects to login/proxy. We are planning something like this.
