Jetspeed on existing server (2)

I just tried to do a demo-install, but it's gagging on the MySQL 
username and password without saying *what* is wrong.

I can't find anything about what privs the database user needs; and in 
any case, MySQL requires a database name when granting privs, and I'm 
unhappy about using *.*

Does anyone have a pointer to details?
