I have made a bit of progress. There appeared to be some missing entries:
jetspeed-portlet.xml and
specifically: <js:service name='EntityAccessor'/>

I was able to get rid of the Entity error. However, I than got a "blank"
screen.

The tomcat logs still produce:

No error, but a warning indicating that it can't find the portle that I want
to load: LoginPortlet. No exceptions.....

Thoughts on what to do next?
