So I have implemented in memory caching for Portlets and PortletControls. It uses the Cocoon MemoryStore so we have good code reuse here. Anyway when it gets cache hits the performance is almost instantaneous. I would be curious as to how this works in a larger configuration. If anyone puts this under a load let me know.
