Check our these cross-browser dhtml libriaries:

They're LGPL (I think they can be included with jetspeed unless they were GPL, am I
wrong?)
They work great, I've used them myself a couple of times, but remember that
javascript is javascript and that means it has terrible quirks and compatibility
issues and can be a real pain to make it work properly. But once they work, they
look really cool, just check the examples from the above site.
