As many of you know, the differences between JSDK 2.0 and JSDK 2.2 are
large. From a developers standpoint I am thinking of removing the JServ
compatiblity. This would mean that Tomcat would be a requirement.
Are there any -1s here? Does anyone HAVE to have JServ? I am willing
to keep it around but only if I get a -1.
The issues are clear if you have to write code for both platforms.
Cocoon is kludgy in places because it has to work on both platforms (the
Authors would admit to this I am sure). Jetspeed is kludgy because of
this also.
It would be nice to support as a minimum JSDK 2.1 but there are no SOLID
OSS alternatives in this platform. All our requirements for development
should be present in 2.1.
This would also work for EngineContext.getRealPath because we could use
ServletContext from JSDK 2.1.
