After "designing" this email, I was prepared to trash it. However, here it is,
and it may be usefull for HOW NOT TO do the install of jetspeed. As mentioned
before, my programming experience equals "null"; this would be my excuse for the
next lines of text.
The re-install of Jetspeed is planned for this weekend. Hope this time will work
:-)
Thanks all for the responses. Just few observations:
NT4.0, Apache 3.1.12, 2 domains, Tomcat 3.1 (that's my configuration)
When I first installed Jetspeed, I had 100 and something class files missing,
with jikes in the build.xml, but no jikes compiler, also using (in the
build.bat) tools.jar from jdk1.3\lib, servlet.jar from Tomcat, as a replacement
for jsdk.jar.
Then switched to /classic in the build.xml, and used also javac.jar from
jakarta-tools, so I've got compiled more files from the one left , and I think I
had some 39 *.java files still not compiled into class files. Then got back to
/jikes in the build.xml, downloaded jikes from IBM site, and all the rest of
the files were FINALLY :-) compiled.
Now, (do I have to ask you or I know already the answer), is this ever gonna
function or do I need to start from the beginning?
Can I also assume some mis-takes in the properties files?
I also do not want to have the *.properties files anywhere in the domain
directory.
Thanks again.

Read the Jyve FAQ on Jetspeed. This is in there. Jetspeed.jar is not
in your CLASSPATH.
