Thanks for the info.
This is what we are trying to do.....When the user presses the EDIT button,
we want to diplay a list of user-viewable items. The user can check all the
ones he/she wishes to view. Once the user presses SUBMIT button on the
config screen, the portlet will be refreshed with the items that the user
has chosen to see within that portlet.

This uses the PortletInfoPortlet... just change this to provide your own
configuration screen.
What are you trying to do. I feel that this is an area of Jetspeed that
may deserve some thinking.
