Hi, I can't help you for your first question.   But I also use Visual Age (jdk1.2) and I can run Turbine. I think that Jetspeed would run too. I can debug step by step. To do this I had to install Apache Jserv on my Windows box and set the "ApJServManual On" in the Jserv.conf. I add all the classes of JServ, Turbine, JDBC, ... in Visual Age. Then I launch Jserv.main () and every things is running well. I think that you can also run Tomcat in Visual Age. Just import all the Tomcat, Jetspeed, Turbine classes in VA.   Hope that help you.
